Dear valued NCO Operators and NASAA Organic Members,
NCO (NASAA Certified Organic) and its parent company NASAA (National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia) would like to advise you of the important decision that NCO has made regarding its accreditation to the NOP (USDA National Organic Program).
After consultation with the USDA NOP accreditation team – and careful consideration of our options – NCO has decided to, at least temporarily, surrender its NOP accreditation.
As of the 7th July 2024 NCO will voluntarily surrender its accreditation to the NOP.
Major changes to NCO over the past 2 years have the put the NCO Board in a position that it has had to make this difficult decision. The NCO Board of Directors is now focussed on the viability into the future of NCO.
All affected NOP operators certified with NCO have been notified or have been attempted to be notified of this decision prior to this notification, as well as the steps they will need to take.
NCO understands the effect the decision has made on our operators. Should you have any questions regarding this decision, or the information contained within this letter, please contact NCO on +61 8 7231 7700.
NCO operators and NASAA members can talk to both the Chairs of NCO and NASAA at any time about the concerns they have.
Yours sincerely,
Jan Denham NCO Board Chair
Mark Anderson NASAA Board Chair
